Working to protect the harbour Exuma’s economy, food, and way of life depends on.

Who They Are

The Elizabeth Harbour Conservation Partnership (EHCP) exists to guide the ecologically sustainable development of the coastal zone and waters of Elizabeth Harbour, with the aim of enhancing tourism, fisheries, and recreational use through active stakeholder engagement.

In January 2024, a joint EHCP and BNT initiative installed a state-of-the-art mooring field across Elizabeth Harbour environmentally friendly moorings that support vessels up to 60 feet without tearing up the seagrass beneath them. The moorings are being followed by new “Slow — No Wake” buoys around Stocking Island, Red Shanks Cay, and the mangrove creeks and swimming areas around Moriah Harbour and Man-O-War Cay.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Friends of Exuma established the Harbour Fund in its earliest years specifically to support EHCP and its conservation partners. Through the Harbour Fund, your gift supports strategic planning for conservation initiatives in Elizabeth Harbour: new moorings, pump-out services, water quality monitoring, and long-horizon resource protection.
